LOS ANGELES – Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox have reunited — but don’t expect them to be “Friends.”
The former co-stars will appear back together again on the small screen on Courteney’s new ABC single-camera sitcom “Cougar Town,” with Lisa guest-starring as a mean-spirited dermatologist.
“They didn’t want to play friends,” executive producer Bill Lawrence told Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello. “[Lisa] plays a dermatologist who is a horrible, horrible person, but [Courteney] goes to her because she’s the best.”
And seeing the two face off, he said, should be comedy gold.
“The [sight] of them playing people who dislike each other intensely was very funny for me to watch,” Bill said.
It’s not the first time a former “Friend”, has appeared in a Courteney TV project. In 2007, Jennifer Aniston appeared in a multi-episode arc on the second season of Courteney’s FX drama, “Dirt.”
Lisa’s “Cougar Town” episode is expected to air early next year.
After a brief break, Courteney Cox is back on set of her new show Cougar Town. The show’s production was halted last week when the actress had to attend to a “family matter.” The cast goes back to work when filming resumes on Nov. 30.
There is no word on the nature of Court’s “family matter,” but her reps confirmed to People.com that Courtney, her husband, David Arquette, and their daughter Coco are fine, and that the actress will be returning to work following the Thanksgiving hiatus.
Courtney’s costar Busy Phillipstwittered a message to her followers letting them know that the show’s production was “only down one day” and that “we’re back shooting after Thanksgiving. I’ll pass along the love to CC.”
In the words of Chandler, we soooo didn’t want to hear this! Former Friends star Lisa Kudrow has put the brakes on the rumor that the cast was planning on coming together for a reunion.
Phoebe was a guest at the P.S. Arts Express Yourself event in Santa Monica this weekend, and sadly put the reunion rumors to rest. “Everyone is busy!” she said.
But Lisa did note that the biggest objectors are the show’s original writer-creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane. ” I guess they don’t think it’s a good idea,” she said.
Kudrow at least got to see one of her former cast mates recently, however. She just shot an episode of Cougar Town, which stars Courteney Cox. “It was really fun!” Kudrow told Us. “God, Courteney is fantastic! She is so funny. I had such a fun time.”
We wish the creators would change their mind! Look at what happened with Sex and the City! We’d pay $10 too see all six Friends back together

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) – “Cougar Town” actress Courteney Cox will reportedly be trying for a second baby with husband David Arquette soon. The actress says she can feel her biological clock ticking and would definitely love to expand her family.
Cox told OK! magazine, “We’re not trying yet. We’re revving up the engines. I’m only ready ’cause time’s a-ticking.”
“If I was 34, I’d wait another year, because I like those three-to-four gaps. I want Coco to be helping me with the next one. One child is hard. Two is probably harder.”
Cox, 45, and Arquette, 38, have one daughter together, Coco, who is 5 years old.
The former “Friends” star is also hitting back at recent reports stating that she can’t have more children as ridiculous saying, “There was a photo of me coming out of a doctor’s office and it said that I’m going through menopause and that I’m really upset because I can’t have another child.”
The couple will also be headed back to the big screen together with the fourth installment of the horror film “Scream 4
It’s been about five years since “Friends” ended, and the six friends that we’ve have known and loved went their separate ways. Now, Phoebe and Monica are going to be reunited, sort of. Lisa Kudrow has signed on to guest star on Courteney Cox’s ABC hit, “Cougar Town.”
According to TV Guide, Kudrow would be playing a dermatologist that Cox’s character can’t stop going to despite the fact that the doctor is mean to her. She is set to start filming her episode by next month with an airdate of early 2010. Apparently, Cox has approached her other “Friends” co-stars such as Matthew Perry and Jennifer Aniston. It’s hard to say whether or not Perry would come on board for an appearance, but Aniston is probably a sure shot considering their close relationship. Besides, she did make a guest appearance on Cox’s other show “Dirt.”
This show would most likely be closest thing to a reunion of “Friends” you’re going to get. The prospect of an actual “Friends” reunion seems doubtful. But the aspect of reuniting the actors in a different form is more plausible ala the “Seinfeld” reunion on “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
With Lisa Kudrow coming to “Cougar Town,” it definitely makes me more excited to watch the series. So far, the show has been amusing. But it’s not really a priority to watch it immediately considering the show is opposite to “Glee.” I’m hoping the show gets better as the season moves on. If more “Friends” stop by, I’ll be more excited to keep watching.
