Being a big fan of the show, as well as a vintage poster gallery, we were pleasantly surprised to the see the Jouets poster so prominent in Monica’s living room. Phoebe’s reference to the “French poster that nothing comes out of” in season 10 , is actually a famous advertising poster designed by Jules
Cheret in 1885. The original was one of 42 advertising posters that Cheret designed for a department store in Paris known as “Aux Buttes Chaumont”. This Jouets poster is advertising childrens toys (jouets means toys) and features a beautiful decorated rocking horse, one of the most desired and expensive gifts a child could receive in those days.
After seeing the Jouets poster on the show, we thought how wonderful it would be for real
fans to actually own the same poster. And so we decided to reproduce it as a great memory of the Friends TV show.
The poster is printed on a high quality, ultra-white, acid-free felt white 65 pound paper with archival features. This paper provides a viewing pleasure without any loss of color integrity. So the poster turned out to be not only a great reminder of the
show, but also a great decorative piece with its quality look.
